Neurohubs

Our Neurohubs provide a support and information service for neurodivergent children, young people and their families. This support can be accessed in-person, over video chat or on the phone.

These hubs are based in Buxton, Chesterfield, Derby and Heanor.

For hubs based in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, take a look at our family support hubs.

What is a Neurohub?

Neurohubs are welcoming local spaces for neurodivergent children and young people aged between 0 to 25 and their families.

Neurohubs aren't one kind of support; our teams will provide support based on the needs of the user and can signpost as needed. We offer 1:1 support, workshops, social meet-ups, stay and plays, crafting activities and a whole host of other activities, based on the person's needs.

We also offer activities catered to specific interests, such as dance sessions or board game meets.

The service can assist with queries ranging from challenging behaviour, eating/sleeping problems, bullying, difficulties with gender, and many other subjects on the spectrum of neurodivergence.

How is this support provided?

In the first instance, a member of our team will reach out to find out what specific support you or your child/young person needs. After this, support can continue via any of the following methods:

  • In-person meet-ups
  • Video chat via Teams/Zoom
  • Over the phone
  • Emails

Our team aims to be flexible and diverse in how we meet the needs of families, young people and young adults, as we acknowledge that everyone is different.

What can we help with?

Our team are here to listen and support you through a range of subjects, but here are some examples:

  • ASD/ADHD
  • Communication
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Eating
  • Education, work or play
  • Sensory processing
  • Sleeping
  • Toileting

Anyone up to the age of 25 can seek support from our neurohubs service. We can provide information and advice, support groups, 1:1 support, toolkits, signposting and training.
