Sutherland House School
As a vibrant and exciting school, we're passionate about providing the education needed by autistic students from early years and foundation stage through to post 16.

Education for young autistic people from ages 3 to 19.
We understand that the needs of every child are unique and we work closely with parents, carers and families to create a holistic educational package that meets the needs of every child.
Students are admitted to our school through referral from their local authority. Referrals are processed on a rolling basis and that's why we are able to operate flexible entrance dates.
The school provides educational facilities for children and young people with a diagnosis of autism. This includes those in the broader spectrum of the condition where the school can meet their special educational needs.
We cater for the needs of students with a wide range of abilities and differences associated with the autism spectrum.
All students must be within the age range of 3 to 19 years.

How do I apply for my child to join?
Students are admitted to our school via local authority referrals, which can be done at any point after the child or young person receives their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).
You can apply for an EHCP plan by contacting your local council.

Under 25?
If you or somebody you know is under 25 and shows signs of autism, the next step is to book an appointment with your GP. Make sure your diagnosis is the only thing you are seeing your GP about. If you try to mention it during a consultation about another subject, your GP may not address it fully.
