Service users Emma and Ben and day support worker, Sadie
Our green-fingered service users and staff have been busy in the garden at The Sherwood Centre in Mansfield Woodhouse. The vegetable garden is looking fabulous with plenty of tomatoes, lettuce, marrows, rhubarb, potatoes, herbs, carrots and radishes. Everyone has been working hard and the garden’s produce is now being used to make enjoyable, healthy meals at the centre. The team have also planted sunflowers – so the race is now on for the tallest!
The garden is flourishing with lots of dedicated gardening sessions for service users. It has been great to see everyone taking full advantage of the recent beautiful weather, and service users have loved learning all about the plants we grow and cook with. The garden continues to develop, with those involved recently starting to make a pond area and some new rockeries. The sensory garden is coming along too, with an array of handmade seating areas and a new outdoor dining table all made in our woodwork sessions.
Well done to everyone involved!
