Autism East Midlands is working as hard as it possibly can to ensure that we continue to provide support to autistic people and their families across the East Midlands.
As of today we have around a quarter of our workforce absent due to sickness or because they are at a higher risk from Covid19. We are trying to work creatively to deliver services in the safest way possible.
This will mean that we will need to do things differently and we know that this might be difficult for some autistic people and their families. We are sorry if the changes make life harder at this very challenging time, but our priority has to be to keep both staff and the people we support safe.
Sutherland House School, our residential services, and much of our day provision will remain open unless instructed to do otherwise by Central Government or the Local Authority. We will keep people as distant from each other as possible (and in separate rooms if at all possible). Our staff will be rigorous in the cleaning they undertake.
Our family support hubs and youth clubs will not be taking place but we will be offering virtual support. We are also working remotely to support university students and job seekers.
We will continue to update you via our website on a regular basis.
We hope that you and your loved ones come through the current global crisis safe and well. Please heed Government guidance that is there to keep us all safe.
