We are delighted to announce that our latest family support hub will launch in Chesterfield on Saturday 21st October 2017.

The hub will be held at the St John Ambulance Headquarters, Derby Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S40 2ED and will meet on a Saturday once a month from 2pm to 6pm.

Our hubs offer a regular meeting point for families affected by autism. There are activities for children, families can gain support specialist training and advice. These are free sessions and the whole family are welcome to attend.

Autism East Midlands family support hubs are drop in sessions where the whole family can attend. Our project is funded until August 2018 thanks to the Big Lottery Fund, with the possibility of extension if further funding becomes available.

Helen Thorpe, Autism East Midlands Locality Hub Co-ordinator for Chesterfield, said

Here at Autism East Midlands we believe that support for families affected by autism Is essential in allowing people to live more independent, fulfilling and happy lives. With the new hub in Chesterfield we want to create an environment where everyone can come and enjoy a relaxed and fun environment, to provide a place where children can be themselves and adults can access support, advice and information to help them support their loved ones. I am thrilled to be part of the team and excited to bring the new Chesterfield family hub to life.

Our family hubs are run across the East Midlands with groups meeting in East Leake, Heanor, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Newark, Nottingham City, Retford, Worksop and now Chesterfield
