Silly Sock Day is an annual awareness raising day we hold during Autism Awareness Week. We invite individuals, Schools, businesses and other organisations to don their most ridiculous socks on #SillySockDay helping support autistic individuals across the East Midlands by raising funds and awareness. #SillySockDay is all about generating conversation and awareness, so be sure to share images of your fetching footwear on social media! You can do this by using #SillySockDay and tagging us in your post.
“Alderman White School proudly signed the Autism Charter and have been working in partnership with Autism East Midlands since December 2017 upon the opening of our Haven classroom.
Since this time we have committed to raising funds for the charity by participating in the Inaugural Silly Sock day last April raising an impressive amount of over £300.
One of our teachers participated in the Mount Snowdon climb in September 2018 raising over £500.
We look forward to participating again and raising much needed awareness and are proud to be involved!- Samantha Neal, Key Stage 3 Manager of the Individual Mentoring Programme, Alderman White School
