The Chair of the North East Derbyshire Council Councillor Michael Durrant visited our Mundy Street Day Service in Heanor
When Councillor Michael Durrant was appointed as Chair of North East Derbyshire Council earlier this year, one of the first things he did was to select Autism East Midlands as the 'Charity of the Year' for all of the work they do to support autistic individuals across the East Midlands.
On Thursday 17th September, we invited the Councillor to our Mundy Street Day Service based in Heanor and they had a guided tour by Service Manager Alex Devanney and Head of Quality & Operations Ben Brown.
After the tour, The Chair of NEDC sat down with the marketing team and spoke about his personal experiences, why he chose AEM as Charity of the Year, and what he has planned going forward.
I have seen the work that Autism East Midlands does to improve the lives of their service users and benefit everyone in North East Derbyshire and all of the East Midlands and that work is vitally important.
Councillor Michael Durrant, Chair of NEDC
