Our Hamilton day service was recently awarded a donation of £500 from the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes. Staff at the day service attended an event last Friday to collect the cheque.
We're so grateful to the order for thinking of us and for donating to support autistic adults, children and families across the East Midlands.
About Hamilton
Hamilton day service is a supportive day centre for autistic adults, set in a gorgeous former Victorian building.
Service users take part in activities of their choosing, and staff support them in developing independent living skills and supporting their own tailor-made development plans.
For one service user, this may mean volunteering a few times a week. For others, it may be learning how to use public transport without feeling anxious. Person-centred support means that no two service users will be supported the same way.
Hamilton is one of four day services at Autism East Midlands, with the other three located in Heanor, Mansfield Woodhouse and Worksop.
