Head of Quality & Operations Ben Brown was recently interviewed about his work with Autism East Midlands and his experiences as an autistic person.
Ben Brown was interviewed for a documentary about raising awareness of autism and the Backwards Marathon.
To celebrate being neurodivergent Charles Evans, who is based in Nottingham, has set out to accomplish an unbelievable task, by running a Backwards Marathon.
A Backwards Marathon is running a marathon backwards.
The reason Charles has decided to complete this task is to showcase and celebrate how autistic people may choose to perform certain acts in a different way, with great success.

Charles, who was diagnosed as autistic at 17 will be running 42 laps of the Nottingham Rec in Nottingham to help raise money for Autism East Midlands. Charles and his two friends Stefan and Louis will be helping with training for the Marathon as well helping him with the documentary.
In the documentary, Ben Brown opens up about his experience with autism and describes it as his “superpower” and how our work as a charity allows us to hear all about the amazing stories individuals have.
