We're thrilled to share that our brand new training centre has opened its doors for the very first time - a new home for our own bespoke autism-specialist training.
Our brand new Training and Social Enterprise Centre opened its doors today to its first training cohort, which will provide a dedicated space for autism awareness training, autism practitioner training and more.
As staff walked into the Training & Social Enterprise Centre today for their refreshers training - which is offered to all staff every year to ensure best practice - they were greeted by a new reception desk, a welcome sign and a reminder of our charity's vision on the walls.
Service Manager Claire Bright, who has worked in our residential services for over ten years and currently manages our South Lodge and Iedale service, delivered training with a smile as staff readied themselves for their regular training on the administration of medication, as well as other day-to-day functions that may occur working in our services.
Training has always been a vital part of Autism East Midlands.
Whether it is the two-week comprehensive induction that we offer to new staff or the autism awareness training that we offer to businesses and organisations, our new Training and Social Enterprise centre will enable us to all work together to create a world that understands and values autistic people.

Where can you find us?
Located at the former Dukeries day service site, the centre can be found opposite the White Lion pub in Worksop, accessed via the driveway next to St Mary's pre-school.
The building will also house a new social enterprise run by Autism East Midlands, outlined in our Strategic Plan.
Service users that attended our day service have since transitioned to our Old Fire Station day service, where they have benefitted from more space, a large courtyard and several large kitchens for cook-and-eat sessions.
