About the PBS team:

Our PBS team currently consists of a PBS Team Leader and five Positive Behaviour Support Leads. The team works alongside the operational team to deliver the best approaches and outcomes across both our adult and children’s services.

At Autism East Midlands, we adopt a person-centred, evidence-based approach aligned with the PBS Competency Framework and current best practices. Our focus is on collaborating with the individuals we support to enhance their quality of life and minimise the restrictions they encounter. We do this through a process of functional assessment, data analysis and report writing, direct support, service visits, observation, skill-teaching and collaborative working.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Positive Behaviour Support Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement positive behaviour support plans that enhance quality of life and reduce restrictive practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments to understand the individual’s needs, strengths, and challenges.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and analyse behaviours and design effective interventions.

Train and mentor staff on positive behaviour support principles and techniques.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of positive behaviour support plans, making adjustments as needed.

Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in positive behaviour support.

Use data to create and write reports that can be used to inform further interventions or support.

Promoting the reduction of restrictive practices across the organisation.

Qualifications:

Must have a relevant qualification in PBS or similar.

Proven experience in positive behaviour support or a similar role.

Strong understanding of behaviour analysis and intervention strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Must have a full driver’s license, use of own car and business insurance.
