    Autism Training for Practitioners 

    Who for:

    Anyone who has an intensive contact with a person with autism or high impact on their personal outcome.

    This course can also be delivered in-house or at a venue of your choice.

    Synopsis:

    This course provides an awareness of the autism spectrum. It provides learners with key areas of knowledge and explores important themes such as current thinking around diagnosis and prevalence, identifying individuals’ strengths and abilities, communication and information processing, recognising and supporting sensory issues, understanding anxiety and intensity of focus.

    Duration: 6 hours

    Cost: £50 + VAT per delegate for our in-house course, or £500 + VAT for an external course (up to 20 delegates)

    Time: Registration at 9.00am for 9.30am – 4.30pm

    Autism & Ageing is an emerging area and the Autism East Midlands training team have put together this course that looks into the challenges of diagnosing autism in adults and the older population.

    Aimed at:

    Anyone interested in this emerging area as to how ageing and the ageing process affects autistic adults. This course will also consider the future health and social care needs of autistic adults as they age.

    Participants will gain:

    • An awareness of autism in older adults and the challenges of diagnosing autism in adults and the older population
    • Knowledge and understanding around the ageing process, the physical and psychological changes associated with ageing
    • Knowledge of loss and bereavement and the impact on autistic adults
    • Awareness of the future health and social care needs of autistic adults into maturity, and strategies to promote physical and mental well being

    Duration: 6 hour course

    Cost: £50 + VAT per delegate for our in-house course located at our Creswell Head Office
    or £500 + VAT for an external course (up to 20 delegates) at a location of your choice
