Sarah celebrates 28 years of working for AEM with Whitegates BBQ party

Senior Support Worker Sarah recently hit a major milestone, celebrating a birthday after an incredible 28 years of service.
Service users at Whitegates were delighted to host a BBQ party for Senior Support Worker Sarah, who has worked at our organisation for an incredible 28 years.
Our spacious garden offered the opportunity to share food and stories from Sarah's time at Autism East Midlands, both at Whitegates and at other services within the charity.
Speaking in 2023 about her role, Sarah said:
“I found that it was a role that I could do around my family commitments when my kids were small,” explained Sarah of how she joined the charity.
She also shared “All these years later I still love my job and the service users are what keep me going. I love spending time with the people we support and each day is very different. And I know that what we do is making a real difference to people’s lives.”
Katie Threlfall, Service Manager of our Whitegates respite service, shared a few words:
On behalf of everyone at AEM, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Sarah for her incredible 28 years of service as a Senior Support Worker. Sarah's hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing outstanding support have made a lasting difference to the people we support and to her colleagues. Her positive attitude, motivation, and cheerful nature have been an inspiration to those around her. Thank you, Sarah, for your loyalty, professionalism, and the remarkable contribution you have made over nearly three decades with AEM. Your dedication is truly appreciated.
