We're looking for Community Support Workers across multiple regions of Derbyshire, including Chesterfield, Derby, Ripley and Swadlincote.
Our Community Support Workers support autistic individuals in their local communities.
This could include:
⭐ Spending time at their local cafe
⭐ Attending regular group activities
⭐ Assisting with their weekly shop
We're looking for caring people who can help create a sense of calm with people who may struggle with aspects of being out-and-about.
Full training is given when you start, so don't worry if you don't have experience in a similar role. We're more interested in people who are passionate and want to support others.

Another fantastic group of staff finished induction training today, ready to meet the people we support and start making a real difference at our day and residential services. 💖
Our training isn't just a chance to learn about the job; it's also a prime opportunity to meet people across different services and share experiences.
This was a particularly varied group, with staff going to Mundy street, Hilltop, Hamilton, Sherwood Centre and the Old Fire Station.
We wish them every success in their new roles, we can't wait to see where it takes them!
* Special mention to Ben and Karen, our new school Deputy Heads who were also part of this induction group but unavailable for pictures at the time.

Sometimes, people who don't know us very well will comment on our posts saying "You support autistic people. Why not hire them?"
We've been doing this for years, ensuring that autistic voices play a key role across the organisation, both support staff and leadership, and shape our strategy moving forward.
Some of those people now have management roles, and support autistic staff in their teams.
We've also:
⭐ Hired two autistic apprentices within our Painting & Decorating and Marketing teams
⭐ Relaunched our Strive meet-ups (pictured), an internal staff group exclusively for autistic staff to make recommendations and seek support
⭐ Launched a new social enterprise Ace Popcorn, which seeks to create more jobs for autistic people
You may not hear about these things all the time, because we want the people we support, service users and staff, to feel like an individual. Not just "an autistic person."
But at Autism East Midlands, supporting autistic people is in our core DNA.
That isn't changing anytime soon.
