Julian is running the City of Lincoln 10K and this is his story

The City of Lincoln 10K is a popular, fast, and flat road race that takes runners through the historic heart of Lincoln, offering views of iconic landmarks such as Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln Castle, the Roman Walls, and the city’s scenic gardens.

Julian gives his story below:

Let me introduce you to one of my beautiful sons, Jacob.

From an early age, we noticed that Jacob, 20, was a bit different to the other children in school.

Jacob was diagnosed on the autism spectrum in November 2013. Jacob found it incredibly difficult to make social interactions with people.

Over the last 12 years, Jacob has made incredible progress and he feels more confident to talk to new people.

Jacob is the reason why I am doing the City of Lincoln 10K, to spread awareness of neurodiversity.

My aim is to raise £500 for Autism East Midlands as the work they do day in, day out with service users is lovely to see and it's a good feeling to give back to a charity that has helped Jacob flourish and find his dream job role.
