Sherwood crew perform dance show for Special Persons Day

Our Sherwood Centre recently invited all parents and carers to visit the centre for drinks and cakes, as well as a special performance from the Sherwood Crew!
We were so thrilled to recently welcome families to our Sherwood Centre and the people we support at our day service loved having parents, siblings and extended family there.
They were greeted by drinks, teas, coffees, cakes and anything they could need, but the real anticipated event was a special performance by a group of our service users, self-named 'The Sherwood Crew'!
The performance was the result of seven dance lessons that the service users undertook to prepare for this special performance, which parents eagerly anticipated over the weeks.
Service users Thomas, Elliot, James, Sarah, Ben and Connor attended dance lessons led by Mirium, a Movement Teacher with over 20 years experience.

Mirium spent time listening to our service users about their taste in music and what makes them happy, helping them to create a performance which was person-centred and accessible to everyone that wanted to take part.
Ben designed the logo for their t-shirts which were kindly donated by Brewer’s decorators in Mansfield. The music was chosen by the service users and they gave themselves a name ‘The Sherwood Crew’.
Dance lessons were funded by Mansfield Cultural Service with Mansfield Palace Theatre and Mansfield Museum.

The guys have worked hard on this and really enjoyed performing it for the services' families.
