Autism East Midlands is offering a respite service to autistic individuals from the newly refurbished site at Ravenshead, a village located in Nottinghamshire’s hidden valleys.
Ravenshead Respite is a bespoke service set in the picturesque Hidden Valleys area of Nottinghamshire. Service users come from around the East Midlands from their family homes for short break stays throughout the month, or stay with us for a longer period of time whilst they transition into a permanent community placement. It is a small service made up of 3 independent living spaces which allows us to cater for service users’ needs in a very personal and person centred approach.
Service users and staff work together on an individual basis to plan activities to support service users with their independence and social and emotional well-being. This could include activities in the service such as arts and crafts, cooking, cleaning and gardening but also extends out into activities in the community.
Autism East Midlands are able to offer guests a safe, responsive, caring and effective service, with support delivered by our highly knowledgeable and trained staff. All members of staff at our Ravenshead Respite service undertake a structured internal training programme delivered by our highly knowledgeable Learning and Development Team. The Ravenshead Respite service is person centred all of the services support plans, risk assessments and positive behaviour support plans are informed by the wishes, needs and preferences of those accessing the service.
The site is located just 10 miles north of Nottingham city centre and in close proximity to a wide variety of activities and entertainment including:
