We are recruiting for a Director of Adult Services to lead, direct and manage the strategic development, transformation and delivery of services for adult services. 

Autism East Midlands is a leading specialist autism charity and has been providing support for over 50 years to people whose lives are affected by autism. Working closely with the CEO and wider senior leadership team, you will have strategic oversight and overall operational responsibility for a diverse portfolio of Adult Services. Responsibilities

To lead, direct and manage the strategic development, transformation and delivery of services for autistic adults

To provide strategic advice to the Board of Trustees on the needs of adults utilising the services of Autism East Midlands.

Provide effective professional leadership, exercising overall responsibility for management and performance within Adult Services, including supervision of professional standards and competence, management of individual performance and development, and improvements to service delivery and practice

Main purpose of the role

As a member of our Leadership Team, you will work relentlessly in shaping a society where people with autism can be happy, healthy and safe. A society where all autistic people can thrive.

Working closely with the CEO and wider senior leadership team, you will have strategic oversight and overall operational responsibility for a diverse portfolio of Adult Services. You will be open, bold and work with compassion, inspiring local teams to do the same.

You will stay abreast of cutting-edge developments and best practice within your specialist field, leading and steering the organisation to make more difference.

This role will be system-oriented, building relationships and collaborating with a range of key stakeholders – both internally and externally. You will develop an understanding of changes and developments across Autism East Midlands and the external landscape, identifying interconnections and interdependencies with your own work.

As a champion for positive change, you will develop a strong vision for the future development of our adult provision. You will work with service users, internal colleagues and external partners to make this vision a reality.
