We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed assistant psychologist to join the adult clinical service, which is based in Creswell, Nottinghamshire.
Fixed term contract (12 months with possible extension)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Equivalent to Agenda for Change: Band 4, scale point 16 (£22,707 per annum)
Required start date: Autumn 2019
You will have a role in providing psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to individuals who have autism spectrum disorders and who use Autism East Midlands’ residential and day services.
There is also potential to be involved in diagnostic assessment of children and adults with complex autism spectrum conditions at the Elizabeth Newson Centre, which is a national centre of excellence for specialist assessments.
Prior experience in a care setting, preferably with individuals who have learning disabilities or autism, would be essential. You will need to have good skills in assessment, observation and analysis of data, plus an excellent ability to communicate verbally and in written reports. You will also require good interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a range of professionals, carers and clients with diverse clinical issues.
The post also involves travel between bases within a large geographical area. It is therefore essential that you are a car owner with a full current driving licence.
