Sutherland House School received an exciting visit from the number one animal classroom encounters, Zoolab, last month.
In this visit pupils took part in an interactive showing of live animals with a Zoolab professional handler. There was a range of animals to see from around the world. Pupils enjoyed the soft fur of the rats and flickering tongue of the snake as she was sensing her surroundings. The African land snail was interesting as pupils could not quite believe how big it was.
The visit was part of Sutherland House School’s environmental modules taught in Science and Forest school. It was also an opportunity for pupils to engage with animals which they may not have handled before and stimulate new interests.
