Autism Practitioner – Senior Support Worker

We offer £10.39 per hour, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, comprehensive training and fully paid for induction. We are looking for full time (37 hours a week), part time and casual relief.

Registered Manager Adult Services – North Nottingham

This is an opportunity to make a real difference for our service users. In this role you will have strategic and operational management responsibility for the development and delivery of a defined adult service.

Salary: From £28k per year

You will play a critical role in developing an extended range of services which are aspirational for our service users; tailored to individual needs, which includes stretch targets and enables their progress towards independence.

Within your service you will have responsibility for the physical and financial infrastructure which enables the planning and delivery of a responsive service which meets individual, family and Commissioner requirements within statutory and regulatory frameworks.

As a member of the Operational Management Group you will report to a member of the Senior Management Team. You will work collaboratively with Colleagues to support the operational management of Adult Services. A requirement of this role is that you participate in the Adult Service Manager on call rota.

You will have proven experience of:

  • Managing a core and peripheral workforce redeploying staff and resources as required.
    • Working with internal and external partner organisations, commissioners and stakeholders In support of the development of services
    • Managing within an infrastructure of complex audit requirements to satisfy commissioners
    • Working within existing systems to enable individualised personal behaviour support plans ensuring regular assessment and review
    • Undertake data collection, audit and analysis in support of the development and audit of services to meet the requirements of internal and external regulatory and or quality assurance processes.

Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist

Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, with post graduate sensory integration training.

Equivalent to Band 7 (£38,890 to £44,503 pro rata, depending on qualifications and experience).

Sutherland House School, Nottingham.

Part Time – 30 hours a week (0.8 whole time equivalent).

As one of the biggest charitable organisations in the East Midlands, Autism East Midlands offer a wide range of services supporting people affected by Autism, including family services, a specialist school (4-19yrs), a range of 14 day and residential services for our adult service users across Nottinghamshire.

We are currently seeking to recruit a professionally qualified and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist  with qualifications and experience in SI to work as part of the integrated Clinical team based in children’s service at Sutherland House School, Nottingham. This skilled and friendly team includes speech therapists, therapy assistant, psychologists and psychology assistants. As well as regular line management supervision, clinical supervision will be provided through an external provider.

This post requires an empathic, creative and skilled therapist, with relavent experience working with children and young people with Autism and complex learning needs within a specialist school environment. You will be responsible for working collaboratively within the multi disciplinary team, including school staff, to provide effective interventions, advice, and support for the children, young people and their families/carers. This is a great opportunity to build on and support the continued development of occupational therapy services within school; including:

  • Providing advice and training for staff
  • Assisting pupil’s with their functional and motor skills and supporting their sensory needs within the educational context
  • Providing therapeutic input/provision as indicated by EHC Plans and contributing to reviews
  • Providing pupil’s who have sensory integration needs with appropriate sensory diets/programmes
  • Managing a targeted caseload and working in collaboration with staff, other agencies, families and carers.
