Rat Race’s original Coast to Coast endurance adventure returns to the wild hills of Scotland on the 9th and 10th September 2017. Rat Racer competitors run, bike and kayak over 105 miles through one of the most famous mountain landscapes in the world. Awe-inspiring views and a stunningly epic course await those taking part in the Scottish Highlands this Autumn.

Darren, a father aged 49, plans to complete a series of distance cycles to prepare for the event in September and is fundraising to support Autism East Midlands and Ordsall Primary school, Retford Nottinghamshire. The director of industrial cleaning company, Kingfisher Site Services, from Retford Nottinghamshire explains,
I have a family member who is severely affected by this condition and see many other children affected too. I also see the great work that Ordsall Primary school and Autism East Midlands do. The hard work and love shown by the staff is amazing. I want to give something back to the community and hope everyone can dig deep for two great causes.
As Darren’s rigorous training commences this summer he adds,
The gym I attend is Quality Lifestyles, based in Westwoodside near Doncaster. The owner, Paul Seaman, is an ex Royal Marines Personal Trainer instructor. I have attended this gym since 2006 and had Paul as my personal trainer. Paul is helping me prepare for the challenge in September, as part of this he has challenged me to cycle three distances over the months of June, July and August. That equates to 50 miles in June 70 miles in July and 90 miles in August. If I complete these distances he promises to donate £125 via my JustGiving page.
Darren has set a fundraising goal of £2000 and you can show your support and follow his journey here on our website and on social media as well as visiting his JustGiving page.
We would like to wish Darren well as he takes on this tremendous challenge to support several great charities.
