Family Services

Our Family Services team provide help, support and information to parents, carers and individuals.

Autism Workshops for parents

Our parent programme provides support by bringing parents together to learn how to understand and help their children. The longer programmes consist of a series of workshops (between four and eight sessions), for parents of children on the autistic spectrum. Autism East Midlands also provide one day workshops, focusing on specific topics.

Family Support Hubs

These are drop in sessions where the whole family can attend.

Thanks to funding from the Big Lottery Fund, we are pleased to announce the first phase of this exciting new three year project which will deliver support to over 600 families in the region through the establishment of a series of Autism Family Support Hubs.

The Family Support Hubs will provide a regular meeting point for families affected by autism, where they can access activities for children, as well as gain support, specialist training and advice. This will include the development of an on line forum for parents, to gain additional advice and support.

Siblings Group

Each year we run a Siblings' Group for children between the ages of 8 and 12 years who have a brother or sister with autism.

The group provides a great opportunity for children to explore their feelings and talk to other siblings in the same situation. It also offers a whole range of fun activities in a supportive, friendly and confidential environment. Find out more by downloading the Siblings' Group leaflet.
